Kept it up for 3 miles and then decided it was too much like hard work and my hamstring hurt and my feet hurt and and I'd had enough. So early shower and a roll and a cuppa tea in the hall for us and we fled to Wicken Fen and sizzled with the dragonfllies. Have just got in.

icemaiden Sep 2012 4:40pm, 9 Sep 2012 3,405 posts	Quote Pin icemaiden I was reasonably comfortable dropping the pace to 10min/mile, but after starting with a target of just over 9min/mile it felt awfully slow and there was nothing to be gained except a bigger pain in the bum from doing another 8 miles. So discretion was the better part of something and I called it a day.

Somewhere there are 230 people who either DNSd or DNFd. That's some attrition rate. Maybe if the temperature's trending up for this time of the year the organisers would consider moving the start to 9am?
