Have been meaning to drop by here and say hello before tomorrow's race - leaving it a bit late now!
Have done London once before in 2010, and didn't really enjoy it. 'Bonked' badly at about half way, remember very little about the rest of the race, and Fetchpoint was just a confusion of faces and well meant advice which I couldn't take in (although somebody gave me a segment of orange which was absolutely bloody delicious). I'd also set myself a completely unrealistic target, which I was disappointed to miss by miles - despite finishing in what was quite a respectable time for a first timer.
Six months ago I was thinking of mounting a serious campaign for a 'sub-3' - but one twisted ankle, several persistent niggles, busy but good stuff at home and a few very tough months at work mean that's firmly off the agenda. So aim is just to go and enjoy it. Have a few loose targets in mind, but will be happy to be there just to soak up the sights and sounds.
Will shout hello as I pass Fetchpoint - but will probably only stop if it's going very badly wrong, in which case I may need an intravenous cake infusion, and a stern talking to about my aim for the race!!

I can do stern talking too. I'll be very much working off the runners and how they are when they reach us - tis fine, I'm aware things get thrown out of the window in marathons, don't panic, can do slaps/kicks/shouts/cheers/cuddles and a proper full on "get your f**king arse away from here and keep moving" if I need too

Just to say thanks for your support today. My wheels started wobbling quite badly at about 14 miles, so took it more gently for the remainder, and just enjoyed the atmosphere - which was awesome. The jelly babies were much appreciated!!

Thanks to all at Fetchpoint today - we really do get a big lift from the shouts. It's really appreciated. Maybe you made the difference between me getting home in 2:59 and not slipping to 3:00
