Approaching 40 and overweight (107kg), I have been exercising regularly, if haphazardly, at the gym for around 8 years the results of which have been increased fitness, muscle, hunger and beer consumption. I did my first 'proper' 10k in Troon, 2006 in just under 1hr 10min (17th last, stat-fans!). Had a great time and have decided to approach training more methodically. Diet commenced and now running regularly with my wife, Jane, who is faster, fitter and much more beautiful than I am.
I'm in a marathon!!! (eeek!)
