Notes & Comments

Glasgow half-marathon, on a tapering programme which involved over 50 miles (and 7km of ascent and descent) in the Cuillin the week before. Engine fine, but it was clear from early on that neither my running-uphill apparatus nor my running-downhill apparatus was in top nick. I started to stiffen up after the net uphill section in Mile 4 and Mile 5. Told myself it was just a bad patch and I'd run through it. My hamstrings got tighter and tighter and only loosened up in the last half-mile. In the circumstances, I can't complain - it's my third-best half-marathon time ever and my legs are fine now :o)
