Pinno Not the easiest of places to find seems like a lot of people spent the best part of 2 hours trying find it. The race itself was good with some very steep hill climbs and crags to work round. I was pleased with my time for this race as I did this race in road running shoes in wet, muddy, slippy conditions. The atmosphere was good and the race was well worth doing also the distance was more like 7 miles and not 8. Penny Lane Striders 1:06:00 1:06:00 1:15:00 1:06:00 56.41
Should Av Run Quicker 1st ever fell race so didn't know what to expect. Only had trail shoes so a bit slippy underfoot. I'm not used to walking which I did a few times up some ridiculous steep hills and sides of river banks. Made up places only when it got flat and downhill. Good fun, extremely hard work on a bag of peanuts. Stockport Harriers & AC 55:27 55:27 55:27 65.02
WillBill Ran a fraction under 52mins in 2005. Ought to go better this year - but breaking in new shoes.
The shoes worked!!! Started steadily but soon got into the running and come the one big climb to Bowstones, I was starting to feel it. However, no sooner are you up the hill than there's lots of nice running on which to recover. Had a good tussle with a runner from Pennine from Bowstones onwards but he got past in the final half mile. Knowing the best lines went some way to accounting for finishing 6th.
