Pootle: What a great photo! We get one of these in our garden quite a lot but the thing is so skittish as soon as it appears we have to play musical statues immediatly so it doesn't fly away! -

Reiver: About 8 feet, moving very slowly. I agree with Pootle as I have seen this numerous times but never been lucky enough to sneak up on it before. -
