Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Unfortunately not, an earlier start doesn't mean an earlier finish, which will be about 10 pm so I guess I'd be racing on my own at about midnight ;-)

:-( Sadly I'm also not going to be able to make it now - commitments on Sunday mean that I am going to have to do my 20 miles on Saturday instead. Very disappointed.

O.K. I've drawn up a provisional timetable, which I'll f-mail to people. The suggested race paces are just guidelines and by all means enter a race which is slightly slower or faster than you're expecting if the timing suits you better:

11:00 Everyone arrives/ warms up
11:15 6:30 - 7:30 min mile
11:30 First 800m
11:45 4:xx- 6:30 min mile
12:00 First 400 m
12:15 100 m for kids
12:20 100m for adults
12:30 Second 800m
12:45 9 -10 min mile

1:00 Second 400m

1:05 -1:30 Drinks, cake :-)

1:30 7:30- 8:xx min mile/ warm down for speedies?

2:00 Finish

The most popular estimated finish time seems to be between 6-7 mins. I've put in two lots of 400m races and 800m races in the hope that people can space their races out, so they're not doing them all back to back.
Let me know if the timetable causes you any problems.
And don't forget to bring lots of cake. :-)

Eldest will want to be in the sub 6:30 group, I'll be in the 9 - 10 - we should get there in time

The big question is can I squeeze another PB after my surprise 9:26 at Bedford - anyone fancy pacing 9:20? :-)

Hello :)
Sandy track is a 20 minute jog from home. If I can make it/I am brave enough to meet new people, is it OK if I just turn up on the day? I may just feel up to attempting a 9-10 minute mile :-)
