Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

using absolutely instead of yes all the time is irksome, as is people who use myself/yourself instead of me and you, I have noticed this quite a lot recently.

I myself have been absolutely aware of this tendency for quite some time, in my own very unique fashion ;-)

I myself personally think I even heard the Blessed Moira Stewart use "phenomena" to describe something in the singular on this morning's radio news ;-0

Though, to be fair, she only "reads" the news and probably didn't write that herself.

People, (football commentators seem especially guilty) who say that something just about happened, when, in fact, it did happen.

Eg "the keeper just about kept that one out" when a save has been made - no, the keeper did keep that one out; if he had just about kept it out, it would be a goal!
