Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The local radio morning show presenter, because he sounds just like Paul Hollywood. I wish I'd never been tempted to watch that cake programme, then I wouldn't know this fact and it wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

My gears are being ground at the moment by those donkeys in SW1 debating the plans to thunder on with regular army redundancies, whilst completely ignoring a failure to recruit significant numbers of TA to "make up the shortfall". An MP's called a debate and vote, but all the opponents are wilfully avoiding the facts and wanting to push on, leaving a gap between the regulars and TA.
Whatever the rights and wrongs of the policy, if you haven't got enough reserves, why carry on letting regulars go?

Ah, Zorba, see your point. Not pretentious as such, incorrect certainly. And with a weird title.

People who believe communal work kitchens, and communal work milk, is theirs alone for a) the preparation of various pretentious breakfast recipes, and b) for their unlimited drinking as an accompaniment to said pretentious breakfast recipes.

1) it takes up time, in a cramped kitchen, with about 50 people wanting to use the facilities just to make a cup of tea or coffee
2) it's selfish, since it means someone has to go and get more milk. Invariably not the person who used half a pint to themselves.
