Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Over use of the F word on this (and other boards). In plain speech I can understand it (and in extreemis - like today when I hit myself with a hammer - use it myself) but - well does it really add anything to e-posts??

Folk who seem to have nothing better to do than worry about themselves. And not being allowed to say, "Go and get a job or do some voluntary work, since all of this leisure time you've got, for which SOME of us would be grateful, clearly isn't making you happy."

The assumption that if I send students out to the naughty room for complete in-my-face defiance then I'm incapable of "controlling" my class.

"Reaching out".

What they mean is having a conversation with "unfortunates" whilst holding the head at a caring angle and knitting the eyebrows to show genuine concern.

The Iron Duke
John Montagu the 4th Earl of Sandwich. strutting around thinking that he's William of the Grand Testicles with his bit of meat between two chunks of bread

"Came, cast your gaze upon my creation, I shall call it the Sandwich, aren't I all clever and stuff?

Oh yes, very nice, but will it keep your feet dry when it rains? No!
