Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

fetcheveryone.com/forum/no-recently-added-discussions-63732/

There was thread created today about Recently Created Discussions that prompted the following thought from me:

I wonder if the people of TDT would be amenable to having one ongoing thread? I visit here most days (mostly because I tag it each day to link the related threads) but I do also enjoy guessing the lyrics.

It would be a lot easier to just have the one, because it is a pain updating the description every day when you start a new thread, copying and pasting from a previous one.

Perhaps the person setting the new clue for the day could do so in bold type so that it stands out. Surely it would be simpler to use and easier to manage, especially as there are not so many people posting on each thread each day?

Benefits:
1. No need to copy and paste the thread description each day.
2. Forum page not clogged up with lots of very similar threads that only get posted to for one or two days
3. History of songs already used easy to see and revisit.
4. No need for those who don't want to see the threads to have to actively choose to suppress them

What do you think?

It sounds like a good idea. Perhaps, would it be worth asking Fetch, if that particular thread could have more than one Fetchie "maintaining" it so there was always someone around to do the daily editing of the title and adding of song lyrics? A sort of administrative team?

I'd go for just have one overall thread with a generic title, but it's not really my thread or place to say

Evening!
Lyrics nope.
Sunny day a big improvement on yesterday when it was wet (torrentially) cold and miserable all day and I'm ashamed to say I didn't do a lot. About from stress about weekend's long walk logistics. Basically this 3 week rail shutdown makes travel in far north difficult esp on Sundays. However have now found a taxi driver (thanks Ailsa) who will pick me up and take me to Tain (nearest town served by a bus on Sunday morning. Still won't get home until Monday but it'll do!
so this morning a damp underfoot 10.2 trail miles and then a walk with recovering friend on north coast this afternoon, which was sunny and beautiful.
Hope all having a good day!
