Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I take it that Dog Fish is actually Rock Salmon? My all time favourite chip shop comestible, something you see less of these days.

This is pretty good just spent a very enjoyable 15 minutes googling animals I have never heard of. solenodons are just rats, shame about the Sea Snakes.

All this might come in useful.during Only Connect or Uni Challenge. I do wish Victoria would just shut her face at the end if each show though.

All this talk of googling, I decided to start.

Did Rabbitfish.
Disappointed to see that it looks nothing like a rabbit.

It's put me off googling any more. I can't stand the disappointment.
Back to voting for the funny names.

'Most stingrays' is an oddity. It must be all stingrays surely? A stingray is poisonous because of the sting in the tail, so a stingray that doesn't sting is just a ray?

Shame about the Komodo, Komodo Dragon vs Gila Monster would have been a fine deathmatch tie, sounding like something from an episode of the original Japanese Godzilla movies.....:-)
