Indeed.
Here's my latest (this time from Metcheck which does at least attempt to be localised / mountain relevant). Still not showing the calm, bluebird sky day which we all know awaits us...

6 miles this morning confirmed I don’t like sheep. Then a walk up and down Cnicht this afternoon with the family. From the top I could look down at the Llyn Dinas just up the road from Bedgellert and admire a bit of the race route from afar. No need to get any closer before Sat!
Need a rest now.
Btw, weather is majestic, currently.

Just about settling on a plan A - targetting about 3:25 (or at least, 3:25 achievable at the foot of the final climb).
On the strava segments it breaks down approx:- 8:10-ish to the PyP hostel (just over 37 minutes) 7:35 avg by the turn at Bedgellert (about 60 minutes of running, average about 7:16 pace for that section) 7:40 avg pace by the bridge in Waunfawr (about 1hr10 minutes of running, average about 7:47 for that section) 7:51 avg pace by the end (just under 39 minutes of running, average pace about 8:45 for that section)
That would allow for a 44 minute final up and over and still be around 3:30 if the gods aren't on my side and a 64 minute final up and over if my lowest "happy enough" outcome of 3:45 is to be achieved. But even if the weather gods don't necessarily allow me to stick to the plan, I'll start committing some of the broad parameters into my head hopefully so I can run to something like that overall effort profile.
This all based on the detail from other runners in the 3:25 bracket, and particularly from the pacing adopted by quite a few women who are cautious (but not excessively so) up the first climb, and then steady afterwards.

As I did for my first ever race back in 2011, I'm printing off this (nice and small, laminated) so I don't have to do any maths on the run!! If it goes anything like 2011 I won't ever use it during the race but it'll still be in my car 7 years later...

Mines not much more complex beyond not breaking the final climb in two. But I like the idea of being able to ready reckon changes in pace of things aren't going to plan. I also overthink things!!

Is it ridiculous that my strategy is to run the flat bits comfortably fast and then be conservative on the climbs? I feel like I’m lacking a bit of sophistication to my approach!
