I just bought a new Inov-8 running backpack (RacePro 12) and am looking forward to taking it on its first run tomorrow morning. However, I seem to be too daft to insert the bladder (2l). It just seems too big for the space that is there (mostly around the sides) - and the hard-plastic lock at the side certainly doesn't fit into the hip belt. All the instructions I can seem to find online are for the older model of bladder which has the lock at the top and is slimmer in the bits that go around the waist (http://www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/inov8_h2orizontal_hydration_system_bladder.html). This one seems easy enough to insert. The bladder I have is this one: wiggle.co.uk It says it is compatible with all RacePro packs, so I def haven't bought the wrong bladder - but how do I insert it? ![]() |

Looks like I might have to leave the new backpack at home today since I haven't figured out how to use the bladder. ![]() |

Spicey - I only have the older one but it is a very tight fit into the bum bag (Race Pro 4?). When I first got it I didn't think it fitted at all. But the wings just get pushed in and if not fully filled (which I never do with mine) then it slightly folds in places. Good luck. :-)G

Thanks, G! The older one I could imagine fitting in - but the new one has that hard-plastic lock at the side (i.e., can't be folded), which is a good two to three inches wider than the hip belt's width (not sure of exact measurements as bag is at home).

I can see what you mean, that opening at side is different. But it says fits Race Pro packs. Hmm.

I too have the old one, had it for years. It was a squeeze to get it into the sides, but the old opening allows you to fill it while in place. I have looked long and hard but I can see no way in which that would fit into my rucksack... Have you looked at the innov8 website? Also, try and ask on the FRA forum? |

Thanks, HappyG and Hanneke! I couldn't find anything on the Inov-8 website (they probably think it's obvious...). Might sign up to FRA forum to ask there. (Might wait and see whether I can catch my flatmate some time first though as she's much more practically-minded than me and might just 'see' how to do it.) It also says this new bladder was an improvement on the old one - surely being able to insert it and fill it more easily would be part of improving it? I'm sure once I know how to do it, I'll feel *so* stupid! ![]() |

Is there a way of folding the hard bit over diagonally and push it in? I couldn't see it, but if the rucksacks are still the same shape, I don't see how this bladder would fit without doing something to the closure?
