My dad had a stroke a fortnight ago. I have been sorting out his kitchen, study and airing cupboard to make it easier for him to find the things he needs. Tonight he was very anxious that I hadn't thrown something away. The trouble is he can't name it and the description is a bit random. Can the combined power of Fetchie brains solve this conundrum? The thing is in two parts and they link or fit together somehow. One or both is made of fabric or at least something soft and bendy. We came up with strainers/sieves, coffee filter, caffetiere... These were wrong and Dad got quite cross and told us off for not helping so I think we were far off. All ideas appreciated.

What does he use it for? Could it be velcro?

Interesting, Dio. We may have been barking up the wrong tree entirely.

I immediately thought oven gloves as well. How frustrating for him. Let us know if we're wrong and we can get our thinking caps on again.

Oven gloves - a good call I don't think I would have come up with.
If not that, cylinder vacuum cleaner?

No further clues, Dio, and it took 40 minutes to get as much as we did. I am assuming that the thing came out of a biggish drawer in the kitchen that was the last thing I cleared. Again I could be wrong. My daughter thinks he said something about using it with/around food but I didn't hear that bit.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll try again tomorrow evening. I have left his lunch in the fridge for the carers and have to spend the day with my sister sorting out powers of attorney etc so he may have come up with some more words to help by then.
