Garmin, heart rate strap and battery life

Does your battery drain quicker on the Garmin (305) if you use the heart rate strap? If so, does anyone any idea how much battery time you lose from a full charge?

Never noticed any serious battery drain with the heart rate strap with the 305 from without. In fact I don't even both charging my 305 it seems to get enough from when it sits in the cradle to sync.
