Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'm having a fasting blood test tomorrow @ 1020 am. Can I drink herbal tea in the morning or is it really just water?

And yes, I did ask the doctor but she reacted as though it was the first time anyone had asked her (she did seem to be about 12) and didn't give me a very good answer...so I'm hoping someone else will either say I can or say I can't in a manner which convinces me.

I'm not sure to tell the truth but thought it would be just water.

What is the test for (if it isn't too personal)?
I can't imagine it would matter much.

I have had fasting blood tests and not been allowed to drink anything other than sips of water, but maybe it depends what the test is for, mine was for impaired blood sugar level........it came back ok (for now :-) )

Eliminating diabetes as the cause of numbness & pins & needles in my fingers and toes. Also checking for anaemia.

4.5ml EDTA (FBC), plasma fluoride (glucose (fasting)) and serum (renal profile (+eGFR) is what the form says.

Herbal tea will be fine, as long as there is no sugar secreted in it.
