I still like the idea of flying out to the new years marathon in zurich for a 12 hour jaunt, but haven't dared raise this one. Maybe just put it on the calendar and see?

The Coastal Trail series are on Saturdays, pricy, but look like great events if you're looking for tough trail marathons over the winter. Hellen, you can do Zurich in about 12 hours - fly out New Year's Eve afternoon, run from 12 midnight to whenever, then get the first flight back.
