I keep having this thought that I should try to get to 100 before my 50th birthday but then have another thought that getting to 100 won't be the end so why hurry?

Once you reach the 100 there is a tendency (for me at least) to wonder what all the rush is about, especially if you don't have particular inclination towards 200 and beyond. Got to keep it in perspective so that you still love what you do and let the numbers take care of themselves. 100 to 150 is hard going in keeping the enthusiasm going.

Looking at my kit list for the Spine race, I thought getting to 100 maras was expensive.

I have always wondered what the rush is to get to 100 marathons (other than for record holders like Traviss and Naomii).

I'm on 17 since January 2011. I'm now off running for at least month so the plan to finish on 20 overall in 2013 hasn't gone as expected. 100 before 50 (or in the same year as turning 50) is the aim.
I made a few decisions running Nottingham marathon on Sunday which will oddly turn out for the best. As my lovely friend who was tolerating me said.."only do them because you enjoy them. Don't purely chase numbers." she's right!
