Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Always run them in road shoes (mainly because I don't wear trail shoes) and never had a problem. It might depend upon which course and when.

well that scuppered it - just got this from the organisers...

Definitely off road or multi terrain shoes. Had to alter route last year because of flooding.

oh the anguish of decisions.....

Chris Seeney has run 200+ marathons and so does know what he is talking about. Each to there own though, I ran the flood disrupted route last year in road shoes with no problems. The routes are usually loops so you could always change if needed.

Ok that makes sense - thanks paul, i may just have to enter one of them then and take both - i prefer running in road shoes and have never done more than 13m in my trail shoes. Any advice on the differences between the one on Saturday and the one on Sunday?

Have done the Sunday Carriage Cafe twice (once with the flood diversion) and it is usually 3 loops of about 9 miles. Off road 'lite' in mu opinion and some of it on The Greenway. Not done the Sat route to my knowledge, but did do a section along the canal last year which was fine too. My advice is to wait and see what the weather brings and assess the routes nearer the time. Take both types of shoe and change if the loops allow - the Broadmeadow runs are not intended to be too serious.
