About Me

Just some guy who put on a pair of trainers a few years back and was shocked to discover he enjoys running. He also likes to talk about himself in the 3rd person, apparently.

I've slowly worked up from doing the Great Manchester Run in 1:10:10 in 2008 to doing a sub 46:00 10km. Likewise, my half-marathon has gone down from 2:10 to 1:46. I've also just done my first full marathon, at Manchester in April.

I've been doing the Manchester - Blackpool bike ride for 4 of the past 5 years (I missed last year due to bike issues) and have just broken 4 hours - I want to get under 3:30 as my next target. I've now got a road bike and take it a little more seriously.

I've dabbled with a few triathlons too and love them - I have a pretty long term goal of doing an Ironman, but I'm not there yet.

Finally, I've also been trying to lose some weight - I've got down from 103kg to about 80kg so far, and want to lose another 5kg or so.
