Built for speed not distance, but trying to run longer, faster!
I used to have to do "forced" training runs during my very brief spell as an international cricketer, and I hated running. I ran my first half marathon in 2006, and hated every slow minute of it.
I sat waiting for my partner to finish a marathon in early 2013 watching the shapes and sizes of people crossing the line, and thought "if they can run, so can I". 8 more half marathons later, I'm improving and running longer, and my minute per mile pace is slowly coming down.
