I've been running since May 2006 and never thought I would be a runner - hated it at school (which was several years ago !!). In 2004 I lost some weight and took up swimming every other day to get fit. In 2005 I was persuaded to get a dog (hence the picture) and walked him lots and continued to swim - but the dog can't go swimming in the public pool so I eventually thought I could combine our exercise by running, so I started to build it up slowly. Isn't it addictive. In place of the morning walk I now run, so on good weeks I am out seven times with the dog. Last year I clocked up 1575 miles over 282 runs and intend to beat that this year, although 2000 miles does seem to be a bit of a tall order.... I probably run fairly cautiously as I don't want to get injured and not take the dog out! - my current aim (as it was last year) is to complete a half in 1:45,.
