Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

About Me

I started running regularly in August 2007 just as I was about to hit forty - not sure if the two events are connected. I've lost two stone and saved a small fortune on booze since. I sometimes wish I'd started twenty years ago but then I'd have played less cricket, which is the only other sport that really, truly matters.

I try to run to work, which takes about 40 minutes, and I cycle when I'm too lazy or late to do that; plus another 1 hour run when I work from home and I need to add one longer run a week because I've done far too little over the cold, miserable, injury-prone winter.

I live with the most wonderful woman in the world and we're the proud parents of three slightly-deranged children. I work in the law school at Stirling University, where I teach/write about sports law, discrimination law, trade union law and European law: law.stir.ac.uk
