Notes & Comments

Cambridge Parkrun. A bit disappointing, as it's barely faster than last time I ran it, about 6 weeks ago, and felt harder. Got caught at the start and went off too fast, but then settled down. Knew I would just have to grind this one out - it's C-2 day, i.e. the worst possible for running. Top gear was AWOL, the legs were lumbering and the whole CV system complaining. Nearly lost the will to live c. 3k but managed to keep it going somehow. Was amazed to see that last k was my fastest, too (it measured a bit short on my Garmin but pace was faster, too). How can 7.49mm for 2 miles have felt delicious last week and so much of a struggle today? Am very tired, too - from higher mileage and also a gruelling week (lack of sleep and interview preparation and aftermath) - so I guess overall this equates to a better performance than the stats suggest.
