Notes & Comments

Mull half. Really tipping it down at start, planned on consistent 6:45pm all way to a 1:28:30. Downhill start so set off a bit faster & kept it going at 6:30pm for over 4 miles. Ran 2/3 miles with Billy G L&M, then dropped him! Slipped a little on each significant bump especially at Fishnish about half-way when dropped to av're 6:40pm but only back to 6:37pm on return downhill to sea-level. Finally caught Bella runner Al MacLacalan about 8, very windy from about then and had a ding-dong, we battled all way in. I tried to pull away a final time just before a mile to go but he just took me on short sharp rise at end & pipped me on line. Another short one at 12.84m giving 6:40pm, nearly a minute slower than PB but 2nd best by 1:35. V pleased with run, more to come for upcoming 3 halfs in 3 months after start specific more half training. HR 158 (89%)
