Notes & Comments

Long Sunday Run.

From home, Port Dundas and onto the canal at Spiers Wharf, along passing Partick Thistle FC and out to Lochburn Rd to change over to the other side of the canal.

Coming out the tunnel at the other end I met the guys coming the other way who started their run from the Briggs. I joined in with them.

We ran all the way out along the canal, through Anniesland, Drumchapel and out to Clydebank. We continued out to Dalmuir Rd and crossed over the other side briefly almost to Old Kilpatrick. Mostly flat with a few gentle declines, net downhill.

Then the same all the way back for the return 10 miles, except I ran to Bishopbriggs instead of turning off towards home in the final 3 miles. Yes you've guessed it, net uphill on the way back.

Pack was John Gil, Wee Davie, and a few of their group Big Franco, Graham and another gent. The Don joined us for some of the run but cut short at Anniesland.

Most of the group are running their first marathon at Stirling, and they are running ridiculously well. They were so consistent and strong for the entire 20 miles. I fell behind a little bit around 16 miles. Maybe wearing my heavy backpack for 200 miles didn't help.

However enjoyed the run and glad to have pushed myself to 20 miles, just what I was needing in preparation for London.

Conditions were good too, a bit dull and breezy on parts of the way out, however it was bright and sunny on the return leg.

20½ miles.

3 hour run.
