Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

London Marathon
A bit warm at the start, a few places where it was a bit breezy but otherwise very good conditions, even the heavy rain! Much better than last year anyway. Scraped a PB and sub 2:45, given illness at start of the year ran to about the best I could have expected, I just want to do one now in ideal conditions with ideal preparation for that 2:40!
Shoelace came undone at mile 24, tried to carry on as too close to 2:45 pace to want to stop, and calves were twitchy and felt like they could cramp at any time and I wouldn't get going again. Had no choice though, stopped and lost maybe 20-30s.
Stomach didn't feel good from around 14 miles, not sure if I even took any water on after this, forced gel down at 15m and 20m. I'd taken on plenty of fluid in the first half so don't think it was dehydration and heat wasn't a problem so not sure what caused this, maybe just working hard so long took it's toll.
Please wait... saving your change.
