This is basically a nice loop along the River Ouse, mostly along the cycle routes (watch out for speedy bikers!).

Obviously because it's a loop you could start it pretty well anywhere, but there convenient parking spot at the identified start/finish outside Dringhouses Wood on Dringthorpe Road.

And if you want to start in York City Centre (it's a lovely place to visit, people!) you can run out on the cycle route signed towards "Selby" and "Trans-Pennine Route" on the Sustrans route 65, along the west of the river to the Millennium Bridge (the 6 mile marker on the map) - it'll add an extra couple of miles to your distance overall including the return leg.
