paul a Frankly this was cruelty to dumb animals (32 miles.......33 for me) up and down the Coast Path between Weymouth and Swanage. This would be a seriously tough walk let alone a run and was (as expected really) easily the toughest race I have ever done. If you hear me mention doing this again next year then you have my permission to shoot me. A day of thrills and spills, unfortunately more of the spills. I took a tumble down a steep hill at 8 miles but escaped with a grazed and bruised knee and elbow. No dramas however. At a CP later my mum decided to run over to me with flip flops on and took a horrible tumble in the dust, left her with a black eye and a nasty cut chin that we managed to patch up with steri strips and some bandage (Thank you to the nice lady in the caravan who came to help with her first aid kit). On I went and was doing well making up a bit of lost time until mile 31 when I got totally lost with the really poor directions through the centre of Swanage and playing serious dodgeball with the grockles. 45 minutes of faff and my 5:xx time turned into 6:37. Winner was 5:25 so I would have been nicely placed (probably still was but lost a lot of time). Not impressed with the organization and I won't be back anyway. 100 Marathon Club 4:21:59 4:23:24 5:30:00 6:37:00 40.99
