Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

What song are you bingeing on at the moment?

Maybe it's just me, but I find that a song just lodges itself in my brain and I hit the repeat button on my MP3 player while I'm out running again and again. A binge generally lasts a week, but can go further. Generally everyone else moans when I play it in the car for the umpteenth time after a day or so.

Current:
Hand to Mouth, George Michael (day 3, and still going strong)

Previous:

Next to You, The Police,
My Ever Changing Moods, Style Council

My Old School, Steely Dan
The Best of My Love, Eagles
Moments of Pleasure, Kate Bush
My Brother Jake, Free

Am I alone in this?

No, Tony. What 'sticks' is often what I've listened to most recently, e.g.

Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner - Warren Zevon

Won't Back Down - Tom Petty

Roadrunner - Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers.

I listen to much music very often, so choices can change almost daily - and return after time, for no particular reason.

Nope. Actually that Style Council one is one that I listened to in bingey fashion relatively recently.

Others would be the Manics “4st 7lb” and “ifwhiteamericatoldthetruthforoneday“Donnell Jones, “U Know What’s Up”, The Ting Tings, “That’s Not My Name” and Blur, “Go Out”

What sparks it for me is hearing a snippet of a song on a TV programme or whatever. The Style Council song has two distinct versions, of course. I gave them equal play time.

I've listened to my current binge track at least 5 times since I started the thread.

Catatonia: Road Rage. Entirely due to the independence vote in Spain.

A couple of weeks ago it was Foo Fighters, Run.

Although I own the LP, I love to listen to the YouTube version
https://youtu.be/9VFiEZNg_AE?list=FLfzwudhq-dGhLnOGHYNsjGQ
. There's something comforting about having that woman listen to the track on the Ubahn.

Got something to say?
