I love the caves around Castleton. So much fun taking young kids to see The Devils Arse and telling them its ok to say the bad word |

I went to "Carol's in the Devil's Arse" a couple of years ago. The acoustics were incredible along with the occasional dripping from the cave ceiling ![]() |

The cottage we book is right by the entrance to the Devils Arse - the kids were shocked/amused/enthralled the first time we took them. Nearly 40 years ago I was very involved with Sheffield uni walkers and ramblers - itβs an area I know extremely well. We could get on the number 51 bus in Broomhill, pay 10p and get off in the square in Castleton |

I'm guessing HellsBells that was in the days of the People's Republic of South Yorkshire when bus fares in Sheffield started at 3p and 10p was about the maximum? I recall going to stay up there with running friends and catching the bus out as far as possible before running home over the moors. |
