I ran at school (cross country and athletics) but at that time enjoyed the team games of rugby and cricket so never really did anything on the running side for ages after that. Then I found myself working in the Potteries and started running out in the evenings to stop myself from going mad. Now I seem to spend half my time running and half my time suffering from an injury brought on by naive over-enthusiasm. Just into my 60s, my running mind is only slowly getting used to the reality that my legs are no longer those of a 23 year old. And, by the way, I now have non-Hodgkins lymphoma, which is a bummer, but I'm currently doing ok.
