Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Notes & Comments

After last Sunday's run I finally listened to my body and had a rest. I haven't felt back up to par since the Leicester Marathon, which took more out of me than I thought. So, after much eating and sleeping I expected very little from the EHH Boxing Day 10k race.

However, I was pleasantly surprised how good I felt. The first 2 miles were on main roads where the snow had melted and I got to the 2 mile marker in 14:55. The next 3 miles were on country lanes and a disused railway line and it was tough going on compacted snow. The next mile marker came at 5 miles, just after returning to the road, and I was ecstatic to get there in 38:31. I pushed hard to the finish and got home in 47:29.

This run reminded me why I love running. I had no great expectations and just enjoyed it.
