SHEPHERD'S SKYLINE FELL RACE. Well my cold didn't feel too bad, so decided to run (just had to take care with the snot for the photos!). Pretty average performance I think, and almost spot on my estimate of 1.17. The race went exactly as I thought it would - I had a good climb to the Pike, passing people; was pretty much on my own running across the top. 4 girls came past me on the dreaded steep descent; I overtook them all again on the fast flat run at the bottom. I held them off easily on the climb back up and for most of descent, only for 3 of them to come steaming past me again on the last section of descent, doh! I tried to hold them off, and actually think I ran this last bit far better than I thought I could, so that's a positive (Mandy said I looked good too!). Loved the support from the fellow Toddies marshalling, and nearly took up Richard B's offer of a cup of tea out of his flask. Lovely evening after, celebrating at the small and select Toddy bonfire do :-)
