Shakespeare Marathon. Beauftiful day - beautiful course. Started off quite well and settled really early. First lap went really quickly and I was really enjoying it although knee had started to niggle after the first hill. By mile 17 was beginning to find it a bit difficult but some prep talking by Bev kept me going. Had to walk up the second part of the hill the second time round as knee was quite painful and I was beginning to wonder if I would finish. When we got to the Greenway at mile 20 told Bev to go on as I was stuggling. The last 6 miles were the longest 6 miles of my life - was really hot with no shade and I did walk a bit here and there. Was relieved to run into the rec and put a sort of sprint on!! Not sure if I will do another marathon but am glad to say that I have!! Quite pleased with the time considering my problems with my knee and lack of running in the last 3 weeks.
