First couple of miles were on target pace with a 5:14 and 5:16 but I was already working harder (3-4 beats) that the Littledown 5 two weeks ago so new things were going to get difficult! I think I had already mentally decided I was going to struggle and then this was confirmed as my HR went higher and my pace went slower for the next 3 miles. Went through halfway in 16:30 and had a slightly better last mile ( which was downhill) ending up with 33:09 chip (33:11 gun) and 43rd place.

Spent the whole race between 10-20 seconds behind BEJ and this showed me I had absolutely nothing more as I was unable to pull him back in and I couldn't have hoped for a bigger incentive to get my arse into gear!
