This route starts from a lay-by on the road from Lydbrook to English Bicknor where there is ample space for parking.
After crossing the river via a former railway bridge, follow the path to the YHA Wye Valley and then continue along the lane that connects the youth hostel to nearby Goodrich.
As the lane descends into the woods, a path on the left will take you up through the woods, and past an old Limekiln (http://www.overlookingthewye.org.uk/index.php/hidden-industry/coppett-hill/), before bringing you out onto the open hillside of the nature reserve.

Trig point at 2.5km has views over Goodrich Castle.
For about 1km the path then takes you along the hilltop with views out over the Wye. The path then makes a gradual descent through the woods before joining the river below Symonds Yat Rock.
At around 5.5km you will reach a point on the banks of the River Wye that appeared briefly in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1 - at the beginning of this clip:
The remainder of the walk follows the river through a mixture of pasture and woodland as it takes you back to the bridge.
