Was quite a good runner in my 20's whilst in the Army. Managed a 15 min 5km and a 33 min 10km, 1h 19 for the half marathon.
I stopped running in 1996 due to damaged knees, and then left the Army in 1999. Since then my knees have stopped hurting - must have been the Army boots!
I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 2006, and in April this year I decided to start running again to get better blood sugar control.
Its amazing how slow I have become, averaging 6min per km for my training runs.
My objective is to run sub 40 mins for 10km again.
