Parkrun. Easy up first hill. Then keeping close distance behind Bill (10m). Drifting away at halfway point. And didn’t see him after about 2.8km. Splits indicating about 4:15/km to 3km mark. Then splitting longer uphill to 4:30/km. Last km telling myself not to slow, to keep legs fast though they were tired and I feared emerge depletion. Saw Bill walking top of last hill. Calf injury for him. I was able to get PB by half a minute. Sans hydration backpack. Quite windy. Almost lost my hat three times but noticed it coming off.
