Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Notes & Comments

HELEN WINDSOR 10K. Fairly pleased with this result. Tough course, just seemed to be uphill all the way. How can this be scientifically possible? Very warm, humid evening. 2 small loops to start, with at least a mile climb in each. Working hard, facing straight into the sun, sweat streaming into my eyes, really stinging, and flying off my face every time I blew my breath out. Started off running with Peter (who always beats me), thought I'd do alright if I just stuck with him, but after a while realised I could probably go a bit faster. Hung on in there, 200 yards behind Fiona the whole way round (due to the slower start, doh!). Went through 5k in 26.28, not bad, and thought I'd finish in under 53 at this point, being as the first 5k had been all uphill, then surely the second half would be downhill. But, as I mentioned, the route defied science and I was a bit slower on the 2nd half. Nonetheless, delighted. Others seemed to think this course was at least a minute slower than a flatter course, so reckon I'm back where I was during Edinburgh training. F34/80, F40 7/19, Overall 143/208
