The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
Satisfied with this performance. I'd had a really shit day, having been woken up at the crack of dawn to go searching for my missing cat. Spent about 5 hours walking around looking for the little git.
By the time I got to Battersea Park, I wasn't exactly in the best frame of mind for this tonight. However, I felt fairly decent in the warm up and the strides really helped me to get some pace judgement into my head and legs for the evening.
Set off at a steady pace in the first mile and held it back a bit when I noticed my Garmin suggesting that I was running 6-30ish miles. I knew that was too quick tonight. Was feeling good as went through the mile mark and on the few occasions that I saw my Garmin suggest that I was slowing down, I dug in deeper and tried to pick the pace up.
I noticed that once the field had settled down at the 1/4 mile mark, I wasn't passed by a single runner for the rest of the race. I did however pick off a few runners myself and was pleased to catch the Wimbledon lady who had opened up a good gap on me at the mile mark.
Finished feeling absolutely spent - it was a really honest effort and a better judged effort tonight. I think the 196 peak HR and the 182 average demonstrate how hard I worked tonight.
I had half hoped that a sub 13-30 may be on the cards, but I'm satisfied with a sub 13-40 (I think I stopped my watch too late and the official results will show 13-39). There's room for improvement.
As for the cat, the little sod turned up at 9pm looking very dirty and very sorry for himself.
