About Me
Have been running for 30 years and I love running marathons. It has taken a long time to get my body to tolerate regular marathon running, but I've now managed to bag 104 (including 11 ultras). I have to be very disciplined with my training and am never allowed to run two consecutive days, but will often get up over 60 miles a week. I also have a pretty intense cross training programme to keep me in shape.
My body is held together with mesh (in my groin) and my left hip has seen better days (had an arthroscopy and had my femur re-shaped). Things work though and I get from start to finish.
Whilst my body is magnificent and really works hard for me, my brain is ever better. I've got bags of mental stamina that mean I can run through anything and go for hours and even when it's grim out there, I never get the urge to be anywhere else really.

I've now run 100 marathons. It was easy. Need something harder to do next.

This was poor. The back and legs simply didn't want to work together and this was awkward all the way round. when I got to the end I went straight into a back spasm.

A much better run this morning and I only ended it because I need to start work. The back was a lot better. The left knee wasn't too bad.

Feeling well tired at the moment and this run was one of those where I had that underlying tiredness all the way round.
That said, I felt pretty relaxed and finished feeling quite easy and could have run all morning. The head wind on the way back from Kingsdown slowed me down, but I didn't bother fighting it. Considered not running today due to having a bad left knee but it eased up a bit overnight, so I went out for a short one.
Ran a new route out to Mongeham and got a bit lost. Having taken 2 days off to let this weird knee injury ease up, I've got bored and gone for a run. This was nice.
The knee and whole of the left leg does not feel good at the moment. Was feeling easy though. Went for some physio after this and got told to sort out my hamstrings and do more stretching. Pilates with Mr Mo (561[112]). Very stretchy. The left knee is not happy, but you can't he happy all the time can you, so you'll have to just put up and shut up because you're off out tomorrow for a short long run.

A good long run. It should have been 22 miles but I got lost near Princes golf course and had to extend so that I could get home without a long walk in the freezing cold weather.
The left knee is not 100% but I'm not interested in its whinging. From the off, the pace was comfortable today and was quite respectable at times. I was getting tired late on and I think this was partly due to running this with no carbs. That said, I finished feeling pretty good and could easily have gone through to marathon in around 4:08, but I've gone off doing those in training.
