Notes & Comments

Lesson 1: don't trust Garmin's UltraTrac. This was a 40-mile run and my watch said 74k and I did not get lost!
Lesson 2: Gore-Tex shoes and waterproof socks are incredible 🤩
Lesson 3: running in mud is haaaaard

An excellent event on a beautiful day, despite the tough conditions. Plenty of friends made en route. Too quick running with two tri fellas on the second leg, but worth it for the chat. Watch hit 40 miles 10 miles from the end, which was totally confusing and disheartening. Oh well! Didn't really need to stop running though, which I count as a win - only walked for hills, mud, food, and chatting to the family.
