Great Barrow Challenge (day 3 of 4): 3:52:36 Pos: 7/62

Good effort. This was an unusual marathon, because it was self navigated with tiny signs on the occasional lamp post.

It made for nerve wracking stuff. It also made me chase Craig L for the first 23 miles, until I could hold his pace no longer.

On what was a rolling course with lots of ups and downs, I ran the first half in 1:56 and the second half in 1:56:30 ish. Craig finished in 3:48 and I got to the finish in 3:50ish but I turned around as it was clear that the course was measuring around 26 miles (we'd had to take a diversion early on because a farm was closed).

My right knee was a problem today but I got through it. The pain kicked in at 5 miles but subsided at 11 miles.
