Beautiful day for a half. Wind in the face when heading south / east, but sunny skies and dry roads.
Waited for the 1:30 pacer to go through the start with a plan to track them for a while and see how hard 90min pace felt.
Mile 1 was a bit erratic pace wise as I locked into the pace, but caught up with them by mile 2 and tried to hold back, but couldn't help running through them.
Pace felt surprisingly comfortable, so continued on that pace.
Only really started to find the pace more taxing at around 10 miles, and by that time it's "only a parkrun to go".
Was overtaken I think by just 4 people once the groups had settled down after 2 miles or so. Given I wasn't targetting that as a fast effort and would have been happy to take 1:29:59 (or even 1:31) very pleased with a 2nd fastest ever half!
