Redcar HM
Started cool and misty then by mile one was boiling. Sun was very bright and because I didn't think I needed them, left glasses in car, was very distracting. Pretty breezy in places.
Was looking for an avg pace of 7.13, thinking that would be impossible anyway, so was very happy.
Looking at the Garmin trace I knew it felt markedly harder from 9m all of a sudden so was pleased to confirm it was an uphill climb to 10 at the turnaround (was two sets of out and backs, 3.5 out and back so 7m when passed finish, then another 3m out and back in the opposite direction) but by the time I was coming back it was into a breeze and my breathing was becoming desperate so I'm surprised the pace didn't drop a lot more than it did.
Gives me a clearer idea of what to aim for in my marathon.

10th overall, 4th in my age, although one above me said "anonymous participant" so may have scraped a prize of 3rd, especially as winner of my age was overall winner - Justina Heslop! - so everyone else usually gets bumped up.
