A gorgeous run starting in Wales, but very soon crossing the River Wye, which is the border for England and Wales. Pass over Beachley Army base, presently home to the Rifle regiment (duck if you hear them practising!) Then over the river Severn with the second river crossing to your right.
Now you're on land, crossing over the tolls (luckily no toll charge for runners, a Dick Turpin £6.40 for cars!) Past Aust Services (wee stop if required...) Then back on the other side of the bridge with Oldbury power station and Gloucestshire on the right hand side of the river and the beautiful Wye Valley on the left.
(If you'd like to run over the Bridge the inaugural Severn Bridge half marathon is taking place on Sunday 24th August, and rumour has it they have a very friendly, and supportive sweeper.
