JEJ Very sick before, after and during the race. Probably a result of seafood the night before... Recovered from a 9:32 mile (and being very sick) to 2nd place overall, pulling over a minute on the 3rd placed guy in the last mile. Very unlucky with conditions too - my training partner won outright in a low 56 - not bad considering the whole thing was into a strong north atlantic wind. The locals said that the wind was blowing from the South for the whole week prior, but decided to swap direction just for the race. This could be a lightening fast course if windless / tail wind, but it just wasn't meant to be. On the positive side, there are none of the expected recovery issues from a 10M race to contend with, so I can resume full training straight away.
