smurf jo Ben Kenneth Hill Run, Lochboisdale, this was the first fell race that I have ever done, This is an annual event, in it's 40th year next year. 276 meteres of incline within 1 mile from sea level, you have the option to swim the sea loch to shorten your journey. I paddled some of the return journey through some of the shallow end of the loch. There was 4 miles of knee deep bogs, heather and rock to contend with, 3 fences to cross, although no fences were crossed on the way back due to my lack of direction on the peat bogs. Also involved scrambling the rock face to the summit. It started with a 12 bore shot gun and finished at Lochboisdale ferry terminal. At the end of the race all the islanders gathered to welcome every finisher with car horns (stayed in the cars due to the clouds of Hebridean midges!!!). After all this I managed place no 16 being the 2nd woman home. Hermitage Harriers RC 52:00 56:56 41.12
